Cool! The same thing happened to me today. Shows what happens when you push your limits. I didn't know what to expect after 15 on Saturday, the entire backs of my legs were in pain from mile 12 onward. A bike ride Sunday really helped.

I agree! I think it must have been because it was later in the day because the run was longer. I've never had a problem at the places it happened before.

Wild life sitings make a run special, don't they? The last critter I saw was a rattlesnake a few months ago. Yesterday I ran 12 miles on the road and really felt it in the shins and calves after being on the treadmill. It took me 2:05 which is ok considering the last long run was 2 weeks ago for 8 miles. I forgot my tunes and felt a moment of panic, "how can I run for hours without music?" I thought. But it was fine and I was able to pay attention to my breathing and tried to relax. It's raining here now for the next few days. So I won't notice if the water bottles are leaking, ha. I have tried Amphipod and it hasn't leaked. I like the ladies' belt with the one larger bottle in back, I can cinch it so it doesn't jiggle. Good job being careful!

It's about time for winter here, so I'm going to have to put some layers on soon.

I sent you an invite to Fitocracy. Have fun!

I'll try out bananas too. I eat one before every run so eating them during the run is the next logical step. I considered them before but thought they might be a bit cumbersome to carry.

Several months ago I gave up GU's and went the all natural route with banana's. I actually prefer them to GU. I just cut the bananas in half. I ran the marathon last weekend on two banana's. Whole banana before race and half at 15 and half at 22. I had some issues that got in the way of my anticipated time, but fuel was not one of them. Hail bananas! Just keep experimenting to find what works best for you. Happy running Logan!
